ΠΡΩΘΙΕΡΕΙΑ:.Εύφημα φώνει!
CORYPHAEA: Be still!
ΠΡΩΘ: Εκάς !..Εκάς!...
CH:
If anyone uninitiated happens to be near, stay away! Stay away!
CO: Let the blaze and the clap of Olympian Zeus’s thunder reach the extremities of the world!
CH: We pray for the many-rayed constellation of the halo of Callisto, the Arcadian Bear, and the Apollonian Light of Lycaon the Arcadian!

HIGH PRIESTESS: Lycian Zeus! Twin brother of the Apollonian light of the Sun, descend on the life-giving Arcadian land and shine on the noble competitions and the virtuous works of Peace. Peace-bringing Lycian Zeus! Show the people and the nations the beautiful way of Virtue and send us your august Daughter to shelter us, Athena Alea, the averter of evil, the bringer of fire and wheat!
CO:
So that the face of the Maid of Tegea will shine again, as the miracle-working sculptor made her, Immortal Goddess Hygeia!
CH: The land of Tegea, a life-giving source, gave birth to light! In this sacred shrine of the Muses! . . . of the Dryades! . . . and the Angels! As the endless dance of the elements and the miracles of Heaven begins, the New Priestess, coryphaea of a Bacchic dance, repeats under the cheering of the plane trees the profound Apollonian oracle:
ΠΡΩΘ: Δώσω σοι Τεγέην ποσσίκροτον ορχήσασθαι !
CH: I will give you Tegea to dance on, stamping your feet on the ground! And raising to Heaven your hands with the blazing torch, which illuminates the bodies of contestants burning with the desire for victory!

Δώσω σοι την Οικουμένην άπασαν πυρφόρον ορχήσασθαι.
CH: I will let you dance with the entire fire-bringing world, which holds in its hands the flame of Olympism.
CO: Stand firm! Come, partake of light to purify your souls and bodies!
CH: Hold your course, sky-traveling Sun, and shed your eternal light on this altar of Eternal Peace!
CO: Illuminate the ways of the world and the noble effort of men and nations. CH: And guard the sacred land of Tegea, the metropolis of the Light of Olympism, where the seed of a simple idea sprouted. And there was light!
CO: Glorious child of eternal light!
CH: Light out of light!
CO: On this Sacred Altar, where a new Christian Altar stands . . .
CH: In this Sacred Shrine of the most sweet Mother of God . . .
CO: Where she set up her majestic earthly throne. . .
CH: At the ancient theatre of Tegea . . .
CO: In the image and likeness of the foundations of Heaven!
CH: For the adoration of the Eternal Godhead . . .
CO: And for the continuity of Hellenism . . .
CH: For the adoration of human kindness . . .
CO: In the image and likeness of God!

ΠΡΩΘ: Αμμες δε, εν Δάμω Τεγεατάν, «ΑΛΕΑΙΑ» θύσαντες και «ΑΛΩΤΙΑ» θέντες,
CO: And we, who gathered here, in the sacred city of the Tegeates, for the great Aleaea festival and the Alotia sport competitions . . .
ΠΡΩΘ: Λισσόμεθα Λύκαιον Δία πέμψαι ιερόν δίδυμον γένος αιετών
ένθα τοι γαίης ούροι κέαται.
CH:
Pray to Lycaean Zeus to send his twin eagles from the boundaries of the earth . . .
ΠΡΩΘ: ΄Ενθα τοι νέοι δόμοι γένους Αρκάδων έασι,
CH: Where the Arcadians have established new dwellings . . .
ΠΡΩΘ: Πάσι τε σημήναι Πάνα ζώντα και κορδακίζοντα.
CO: To tell everyone that PAN is alive, dancing the frenzied, frolicking dance of life . . .
ΠΡΩΘ: Καθ’ ιερά κάρηνα Αρκαδικού Ολύμπου.
CH:
On the sacred peaks of the Arcadic Olympus.
ΠΡΩΘ: Φρίττομεν ταν ιεράν φλόγαν ορώντες Λύκαιον ΄Ορος αυγάζουσαν και Απόλλωνα Επίκουρον εγείρουσαν Αρκάσιν επικουρήσαι.
CH: We behold in awe the Sacred Flame illuminating Mount Lycaeon and Apollo the Succourer to succour the Arcadians.
ΠΡΩΘ: Καμείς χαίροντες χαράν μεγάλην, βοώμεν:
CO: And we, in profound joy, cry:
CH: Lycaon is building again a human city.
CO: ARCADIA LIVES . . .
CH: PAN LIVES . . .

CO: And joins the dances over St John’s fires and the dances of the Arcadian shepherds . . .
CH: Leaping from peak to peak when Apollo Sun sheds his first rays on the St Elias knolls of the Arcadic Mountains . . .
CO: As young Apollos ascend on their bright chariots to Heaven . . .
CH: Next to them the legendary Odysseus is sticking his oar in the ground . .

Which the Arcadians mistook for a winnowing-fan.
CH: And we listen to the rhythm of life, the pounding of the hammer on the anvil . . .
CO: As the resourceful Arcas is rebuilding Mount Vorion . . .
CH: The sacred peak of the Arcadians . . .
CO: The Temple of Athena Saviour and Poseidon . . .
CH: The Common Hearth of the Arcadians all over the world . . .
CO: The common hearth of the men of a human world . . .
